About Me
Welcome to my website!
I'm Liz, a full time teacher by day and an artist/entrepreneur all in between! I grew up on the south side of Chicago, and I am a proud McAuley and DMSF Alum! I've always been surrounded by art. My dad and brother have been teaching me painting and drawing techniques ever since I was a kid, and together we make up BrentArt, our custom art business that I started during my sophomore year of college. In the Spring of 2014, I received my BFA in Art Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After serving a few years as a high school art teacher, I recognized a need for more education in regards to students with disabilities. As a result, I obtained my Masters in Special Education in 2016. As an Art Educator, I vow to take the time to get to know my students and create lessons catered to their differing styles and abilities, no matter their age or background. Everyone deserves a chance to show off who they are and it is my job to help translate that into art. My classroom is a place of exploration, not lecture-based, but instead my students and I learning and making discoveries together. |
