Hey, I'm Liz!
A full time teacher by day and an artist/entrepreneur all in between!
I grew up on the south side of Chicago, and I am a proud McAuley and DMSF Alum!
I've always been surrounded by art. My dad and brother have been teaching me painting and drawing techniques ever since I was a kid, and together we make up BrentArt, our custom art business that I started during my sophomore year of college. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with my BFA in Art Education.
After realizing I needed more education in regard to students with disabilities, I completed my Masters in Special Education. Since then, I've taught art in schools, art centers, and camps all over Illinois.
Over time, I've gained experience teaching art to people with a variety of needs, including learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and other health impairments. I'm on a mission to make art more accessible for all, one class at a time.
As an Art Educator, I vow to take the time to get to know my students and create lessons catered to their differing styles and abilities, no matter their age or background.
Everyone deserves a chance to show off who they are and it is my job to help translate that into art.
