My art is usually more about technique than concept. I like to experiment with high contrast work, and push it as much as I possibly can. I create representational work focusing on textures, creases, highlights, and shadows. I'm always challenging myself to go one step further, hoping to create something better than my last just to see how good I can get it.
I started off really interested in charcoal because I love how messy it is. Then I shifted to graphite pencil, then oil painting, and now I predominantly work in acrylics because I became less patient in my art-making. Also, as an art teacher I have to be ready to teach basically every medium there is, so you'll see a little bit of everything in my portfolio.
